Samichlaus beer

Samichlaus
Samichlaus

Samichlaus!!! It seems like a war cry of some Viking tribe, and in fact does not have peaceful intentions.

It is a 14% vol. beer , once it was one of the most alcoholic beers in the world, but it is not the alcohol that is appreciated , it’s the taste.

Originally produced in Switzerland, Samichlaus beer is now produced in Austria by Eggenberg Stohr Braurei according to the traditional recipe.

( These beers were produced by monks on special occasions and served them as sustenance during fasting )

The Samichlaus a doppelbock is characterized by a strong malt presence , so much so that its color is a dark brown.

Produced during the period of Christmas ( its name comes from Santa Claus) , then fermented and matured almost 12 months.

We said that was 14 degrees and that at the time of its launch it was the strongest beer in the world.

Before pouring it inspires awe , then the surprise is done by pouring it because the foam is virtually absent.

It smells of ripe fruit, such as figs and chestnuts. I can not wait to taste it .

And the second surprise them , in fact the degrees do not feel at all and the beer is very drinkable.

Soft, sweetish bitter at the beginning and at the end still leaves a sweet aftertaste and almost caramelized .

What to say, or you drink Samichlaus beer alone or with a very nice cheese seasoned and why not with a dessert like a creme caramel or chocolate cake .
